Spring, summer, and autumn are the months that invite climbers of all ages to discover the Kamniška Bistrica Valley and the peaks of the Kamnik-Savinja Alps with their breathtaking views of the valley. Town Kamnik is located in the heart of these natural features and is an ideal starting point for climbing and other (outdoor) activities. With more than 500 climbing routes on boulders or natural walls, it offers a challenge for both young and old climbing enthusiasts. In addition to the well-established mountaineering, hiking, and cycling, recreational and sport climbing is also gaining increasing popularity. Climbing tours can also be enriched with visits to natural and cultural sites around Kamnik.

The glacial valley of Kamniška Bistrica, through which the crystalline green-blue river Kamniška Bistrica winds, is a popular destination for lovers of unspoiled nature and the quiet hinterland of mighty mountain peaks, admirers of exceptional natural riches, one of the cleanest Slovenian rivers and interesting historical and architectural sights. Thanks to its glacial origin, it is adorned by moraines, numerous boulders, and beautiful mountain cliffs.

The valley is an excellent starting point to many mountain peaks in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps and is thus a frequent choice for hiking, cycling, and climbing enthusiasts. It is surrounded by numerous mountains and mountain ranges: Krvavec, Kalški ridge, Grintovec, Skuta, Turska gora, Brana, Planjava, Ojstrica, Velika planina, Kamniški vrh, and Ravni hrib.

Just under a kilometre away from the source of the Kamniška Bistrica River, the 30-meter-deep Predaselj gorge, one of the most beautiful natural treasures around, cuts through the valley floor, where centuries ago a boulder was wedged in, and according to some traditions, a giant placed it there.

Climbing activities are carried out in the presence of climbing experts who provide climbing equipment, instruction, and full support while climbing on boulders or climbing routes of suitable difficulty. Participants can then completely relax, devote their time to climbing, and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding natural features.
